Hunger Is Not The Enemy– by Amanda via The Real Life Recovery Diary

I feel this way all the time. I feel like I’m not supposed to be or feel hungry. Like I’m supposed to be able to control that and suppress that feeling on my own. It’s okay to feel hungry and BE hungry.

Things I Did This Week:

  1. Helped a turtle across the highway. I turned my car all the way around to go aid this slow little fellow.20160706_084310
  2. Found some interesting things in my classroom. Old Disney records anyone? I also did a whole bunch of laminating….ugh and yay at the same time.20160701_121057
  3. Finally! I took my name plate and my mug my husband got me up to my classroom and set them on my desk 🙂 Not that I am done setting up in there quite yet.20160706_131915.jpg

I’ve been meaning to get around to writing an actual post this week but I just couldn’t make myself do it. It’s been a long week. I officially got my school keys for my new classroom and so I’ve been up in my room trying to sort and organize. I’ve also been trying to get ideas together so I can make the room come together. Then finally, I’ve been working on this new cross stitch pattern I recently got. I just feel like I’ve been a busy bee.

I’ll try to get around to it this week.

In other news!!!

I did some fun ‘let’s kick of summer’ activities this past week. My mom and I ventured to San Antonio this week to randomly go to a teacher store. Thank goodness it wasn’t raining for about 2 hours. But don’t worry, it rained on the way home!

Anyways, we ate at this restaurant called Salata. It was literally a make your own salad place!!! Recently, I’ve been really getting into salads (for no other reason than the fact that I am odd) it turned out to be a success!

20160531_112913

I also got my first piece of “official” teacher gear. I bought a calendar set and some boarder. Does this mean I have real teacher status now?

Oh, here’s some chocolate milk I impulsively bought at the store….lol. Please don’t judge my other groceries either.

I also found myself researching at home/personal laminators this week. I’m such an oddball.

Hope you have a wonderful week 🙂

Where’s My Magic Wand?

It’s been a long day. I can’t turn my thoughts off (which are mostly negative). But I can’t make them cease and I can’t stop myself from thinking I’m still going to hate myself tomorrow, as terrible as that sounds. Usually I can watch some childhood movie and have myself feeling a little better, but I don’t think my Fairy Godmother is showing up with her magic wand anytime soon.

Image: http://drinkupmehertiesyoho.tumblr.com/

I literally fear being hungry but I fear eating as well. I’ve spent 95% of my day focused on these type of thoughts. It’s been a hard day. I know that for most of you, my “hard day” probably seems minuscule and it’s actually not a big deal at all compared to what you deal with….but it was hell. I’ve also spent a fair amount of time today Googling odd things such as:

“you are more than your weight”

“do people still love you no matter what you weigh?”

“does weight really matter?”

And finally, “if I eat a donut will it hurt my diet?”

None of these searches really gave me the bold, punch me in the face answer I was looking for-especially the last one! However, I did find a few articles that made me feel better for a few minutes. They made me smile and think, “Hey, maybe everything isn’t so gray and dreary. Maybe I’m doing good and this is all alright. Maybe it is okay to like myself even just a little bit.” Then, after my 4 minutes were up, I basically went back to the same thoughts that brought me back into my distorted reality where I just feel…..almost hopeless. These thoughts steal my joy and don’t give me anything, yet I can’t turn them off. Maybe it stems from being alone most of the day. Maybe it stems from not watching the new Netflix show I’ve been enjoying over the past few days. Maybe it stems from….well I just don’t freaking know! I don’t know where it comes from and I don’t know why I currently feel like laying on the floor and staring at the ceiling. I just can’t explain it.

I’m not sure I really have much else to say. However, I’d like to feel happier. I mean, Easter is this weekend and I’d like to be able to feel happy on the inside. Also, I’d like to watch an Easter movie! Why are there none of those on TV?!

Chicken Parm Victory & Disney

I seriously think that sometimes I should write a book about how to simultaneously be 4, 21 and 65 all at the same time. This past weekend was pretty rainy, so I was passing the time indoors on Friday night. I watched some very old episodes of The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and worked on my deer in love cross stitch (which I finally finished!!!!) I was so over the moon with the Winnie the Pooh episodes. Literally it was probably my favorite show as a kid. It was so darn cute!! I might be a HUGE dork. Don’t judge.

On Saturday, my husband and I had a “date night” of sorts. I don’t really buy into the whole “date night” thing, but I guess that’s what you would call this. I somehow or another convinced him to watch Zootopia!!!!! He’s the best 🙂 I was very thankful for this because I didn’t really want to watch Deadpool. Zootopia was adorable. It’s the best Disney movie I’ve seen in a while. You should go watch it. Like right now.

IMG_20160312_191253

And finally….drum roll, please. I made a version of Parmesan chicken last night.

Clearly, mine is the one with vegetables on the plate. Anyways, it turned out really well and it was so easy. It was just chicken, tomato sauce and some cheese. So simple  and a quick meal that pretty much anyone can handle it. I was looking up recipes on Campbell’s site and came across the recipe on accident. I’m so glad I did though. I think it was even a winner with Marty.

I’m just proud of myself for eating it really. I’m trying to take things one day at a time. There are some days where I have anxiety over food the next day, which is an awful feeling. Then you just have to remember to take things one step at a time.

Enough random rambling…lol. There’s a glimpse into my life currently. This week is pretty much about relaxing and enjoying the few days of warm weather on this spring break while it lasts.

Snoopy, Come Home

Zootopia

I’m on the fence about 2 Broke Girls. I’ve watched a few random episodes and finally got to see the pilot. I thought TBS would run them in order after that but silly me! I’m working on it.

Also, PLEASE, PLEASE don’t judge me for this. I beg you. I’m kind of interested in the Jill & Jessa: Counting On episodes that start back up on TLC on March 15th. I just like those two girls. They are close to my age and just interest me. Fun fact, Jill and I were both born on the same day actually, just a different year. I think those two girls are sweet. I do not care in the slightest about the rest of the family. Thank goodness I can record the specials so I can fast forward through those parts.

I’ve also been super obsessed with cross stitch and I’m in search of new patterns. I’ve found these two that I think I want to do so we will just see. Apparently, it’s my hobby now.

What’s My Age Again?

HAPPY NATIONAL PEANUT BUTTER LOVERS DAY!!!!!!!!!!

I personally have this day basically every other day but I love that there is a kooky national day devoted to it! I need to find something peanut buttery 🙂

Last Friday I had to make a run to the grocery store and run a few errands around town and I stumbled upon these little guys!

20160226_140401
Nips! A while back, my mom was talking to me about these but we never found them. While I was waiting for my prescription at Walgreens, I found them! I couldn’t resist getting 2 flavors and they are pretty delicious. I feel like liking this food could also make me like a 60 year old lady (sigh). A successful find though!

Also, that day, I decided to show my inner child. Who am I kidding, I show that all the time! I embrace the fact that I’m totally in love with all children’s movies and the fact I would jump at the chance to watch an animated movie rather than any other kind. I caved and bought The Good Dinosaur. I hadn’t seen it when it came out in theaters so I was a bit nervous but as it turns out this movie was super cute! Makes me want a little green dinosaur. I curled up on my bed, started working on my cross stitch (because I’m a little old lady) and had myself a good Friday evening. Marty even joined me for a bit.

I haven’t had a whole bunch of exciting things happen lately….but I did get a cool mail delivery that I’m pretty excited about.

I ordered the Tartelette Tease Palette from Ulta because they didn’t have it at our store and it finally came in the mail!! I haven’t gotten the chance to use it just yet but I’m ready!

I just have one question…..WHY, WHY, WHY is the box that this shipped in so dang large?!

20160229_091920
Pretty colors 🙂

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday! 🙂 Also, in the post, I have no idea what age I am. I could be 6, 60, or 21, you decide. Go eat some peanut butter!!
